PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Baseball team dropped the final game of a three game series against Cornell, falling 15-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Cornell scored seven runs in the opening frame, highlighted by a Jakobi Davis grand slam, chasing Caden Shapiro from the game after pitching just 2/3 of an inning. The Big Red added three more runs in the fifth to make it 10-0 and put the game out of reach.
After a Jake Bold free pass to start the sixth inning, Kyle Vinci launched a two run blast to make it 11-2. Vinci’s home run ties him with Matthew Evans ’99 for most home runs (26) in Princeton history.
Jason Ramirez, Jacob Faulkner and Will Sword also saw action for the Tigers on the mound.
Princeton continues Ivy League play, welcoming Yale to Clarke Field for a doubleheader on Saturday.
