Baseball Unveils 2024 Schedule – Harvard University

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball will make road trips to the states of Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina, play in the annual Baseball Beanpot, and compete in 21 Ivy League games as part of its 2024 schedule, which begins on Feb. 23, Bill Decker, The Joseph J. O’Donnell ’67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball, announced on Thursday.
 
Highlights from the Crimson’s schedule include four trips to the South, including two series in North Carolina, one in Alabama, and one in South Carolina, its first Ivy series at Columbia (Mar. 23-24), its home-opening series against Brown (Mar. 30-31), The Baseball Beanpot, the final series of the regular season at home vs. Yale (May 11-12), and a hopeful berth in the four-team Ivy League Tournament (May 17-20).
 
Harvard opens its season with a three-game series at 2023 NCAA tournament participant Troy in Troy, Alabama from Feb. 23-25 with the Crimson’s season opener taking place on Friday, Feb. 23 at 7:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. CT). The Crimson remains on the road for a three-game set at The Citadel (Mar. 1-3) in Charleston, South Carolina.
 
Over its spring recess, Harvard starts the break with a three-game series against Penn State (Mar. 8-10) at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Following a single game at East Tennessee State (Mar. 13), Harvard closes spring break with a three-game set at Western Carolina (Mar. 15-17).
 
Harvard opens Ivy League play with a three-game series at Columbia (Mar. 23-24), marking its first games in the Northeast on the season, prior to competing in its first game in the state of Massachusetts in 2024 with a game at Holy Cross (Mar. 26).
 
The Crimson opens its home slate with a three-game series against Brown (Mar. 30-31) with the home opener set for a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 30 at 11:30 a.m.
 
The 2024 Baseball Beanpot gets underway on Apr. 2 when Harvard hosts Boston College prior to the Crimson returning to Ivy League competition with a three-game series at Cornell (Apr. 6-7). The championship/consolation round of the Beanpot will take place on Apr. 9 at Boston College with Harvard facing either Massachusetts or Northeastern.
 
Harvard plays at Princeton (Apr. 13-14) and at Stonehill (Apr. 16) before opening a seven-game homestand to close the month of April. The stretch includes a three-game series with Dartmouth (Apr. 20-21), single game with UMass Lowell (Apr. 23), and a three-game set with Penn (Apr. 27-28) in the Crimson’s final home games of the regular season.
 
The Crimson closes the regular season with a three-game series at Yale (May 11-12) with the aim of qualifying for the four-team Ivy League Tournament for the second straight season after the event’s debut in 2023.
 
The Ivy League Tournament will feature four teams for the second straight year in 2024 with the top four teams in the conference playing at the No. 1 seed from May 17-20. The tournament will follow the format used at the NCAA regionals with the winner of the event earning the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Championship.
 
The 2024 NCAA Baseball Championship will begin with regional play from May 31 to June 3 before the super regionals from June 7-10 and the Men’s College World Series from June 14-24. The NCAA will announce the field on May 27.
