Jamestown Revival and Rob Baird announced for Longhorn City Limits on April 23

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Continuing the tradition of keeping Austin ‘The Live Music Capital of the World’, Texas Athletics announces Longhorn City Limits prior to the Texas Football Orange-White Game on Saturday, April 23.  The FREE gameday concert series, located on the LBJ Lawn will be headlined by Jamestown Revival with the lawn opening at 2 p.m. 

The Austin-based Americana band Jamestown Revival released their latest critically acclaimed album Young Man in January of this year.  Led by core members Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance, the band has also previously released three albums (Utah, The Education Of A Wandering Man and San Isabel), and two EP’S (Field Guide To Loneliness and Fireside With Louis L’Amour). Jamestown Revival has toured extensively throughout the country and has performed at iconic music festivals such as ACL Festival, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Farm Aid.

Opening Longhorn City Limits is Americana artist and singer-songwriter Rob Baird. After relocating to Austin, Baird has been a constant touring force playing alongside acts such as Jason Isbell, Billy Joe Shaver, Don Williams and Nathaniel Rateliff. “Run of Good Luck”, “Fade Away”, “Dreams and Gasolines”, “Mercy Me”, and “Mississippi Moon” are among the fan favorites from his first four albums. Baird has had songs recently featured on the hit series Yellowstone and is set to release his fifth record “Anthems” May 19th.   

Additionally, in conjunction with a new multi-year sponsorship commitment to become both an Official Corporate Sponsor of Texas Athletics and the Official Whiskey of the Texas Exes, Still Austin Whiskey Co. will now serve as presenting sponsor of Longhorn City Limits.

Fans ages 21 and up will be able to enjoy both live music and Texas-themed cocktails crafted from Still Austin inside the LCL Lounge on April 23 and this coming season.  Concert goers can also enjoy Stubb’s BBQ and take a photo in front of the LCL guitar monument located on the west curb of the LBJ Lawn closest to Robert Dedman Drive.

The sponsorship agreement with Still Austin was negotiated by LEARFIELD’s Longhorn Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rightsholder for University of Texas Athletics.
