12 Tigers Named Spring Academic All-Ivy


A total of 12 Princeton student-athletes have been named Academic All-Ivy for Spring 2021. Overall, 98 Ivy League student-athletes earned Academic All-Ivy distinctions for spring sports.
 

Institutions nominated one student-athlete from each of the 13 Ivy League sponsored sports – baseball, women’s golf, men’s golf, women’s lacrosse, men’s lacrosse, women’s rowing, men’s lightweight rowing, men’s heavyweight rowing, softball, women’s tennis, men’s tennis, women’s outdoor track & field and men’s outdoor track and field – to be included on the Academic All-Ivy teams. Student-athletes must be in good academic standing to be eligible for the award.

Baseball — Taylor Beckett (Sr., Computer Science – Wellesley, Mass.)

Played in 44 games, produced a .277/.372/.366 slash line with two home runs, 18 RBI and 28 runs scored

Women’s Golf — Anabelle Chang (Sr., Computer Science – Walnut, Calif.)

First-team All-Ivy League honoree in 2018… WGCA All-American Scholar honoree in 2020.

Women’s Lacrosse — Lucie Gildehaus (Jr. Concord, Mass./Psychology)

Played in all five games in 2020… Appeared in 12 career games with four career goals.

Men’s Lacrosse — Alex Slusher (So., Public & International Affairs – Portland, Ore.)

Had seven goals and an assist in five games as a freshman in 2020… Named to Team USA for U19 World Championships.

Women’s Open Rowing — Willemijn Ten Cate (Sr., Ecology and Evolutionary Biology – Westport, Conn.)

Men’s Lightweight Rowing — Sydney Edwards (Sr., Public & International Affairs – Sarasota, Fla.)

Coxswain who won 2021 IRA bronze medal… 2019 IRA silver medal… 2018 IRA silver medal… 2018 Eastern silver medal… 2018 second-team All-Ivy

Men’s Heavyweight Rowing — Tassilo von Mueller (Sr., Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering – Dusseldorf, Germany)

Team captain… 2018 gold medalist in 2V at Eastern Sprints… Two-year member of 1V… Helped 1V to sixth place finish at IRAs in 2019… Finalist for Princeton’s Roper Trophy as Outstanding male senior student-athlete.

Softball — Allie Reynolds (Sr., Neuroscience – Littleton, Colo.)

Second-team All-Ivy League honoree in 2019… Led team in innings pitched in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Women’s Tennis — Brianna Shvets (Jr., Public & International Affairs – Pennington, N.J.)

First Team All-Ivy League in singles (2019)… First Team All-Ivy League in doubles (2019)… Ranked No. 17 in singles (Feb., Mar. 2020)… Defeated six nationally-ranked singles opponents in 2019-20 including No. 1 Ashley Lahey of Pepperdine in February… Helped Princeton earn the No. 5 national team ranking in 2019-20.

Men’s Tennis — Kabir Sarita (Sr., Operations Research & Financial Engineering – West Windsor, N.J.)

Won his singles flight at the 2019 Ralston/Neufeld Invite …Had a 35-19 career singles record
