Baseball’s Fang Selected as Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University baseball rising junior right-handed pitcher Callan Fang has earned selection to the 2024 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game, the CCBL has announced.
Pitching for the Orleans Firebirds, Fang leads the CCBL in strikeouts (33) over 24.1 innings on the season. He has tallied 3-1 record, 2.59 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP, and a .167 opponent average over six appearances and four starts. He has permitted just eight walks against his 33 strikeouts.
This past season at Harvard, Fang earned Ivy League Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-Ivy as a pitcher, Honorable Mention All-Ivy as a utility player, All-ECAC, and CSC Academic All-District honors. For the season, he posted a 4.64 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 83 strikeouts over 64.0 innings. In Ivy play, Fang tallied a 2.89 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 3-1 record, 59 strikeouts, and .196 opponent average over 43.2 innings pitched
As a first-year with the Crimson in 2023, Fang earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Ivy honors. He posted a 4.66 ERA over 36.2 innings on the season with 45 strikeouts to 16 walks. During Ivy only play, Fang led the conference in ERA (1.23) and ranked third in opponents’ average (.179).
For his collegiate career, Fang has totaled 128 strikeouts against 19 walks over 100.2 innings.
The 2024 CCBL All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, July 27 at 6:00 p.m. at Gov. Fuller Field, the home of the Falmouth Commodores.
