Baseball Begins Spring Break Trip At Navy
PRINCETON – The Baseball Team heads on its annual Spring Break trip this weekend opening at Navy (Saturday and Sunday).
The Tigers and Midshipmen will play two on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. with the series finale on Sunday.
Princeton has earned wins over the Georgia Bulldogs and Duke Blue Devils this season, marking the first time the Tigers have collected wins over SEC and ACC schools in the same campaign.
Eric Marasheski leads the team in hitting at .348 while Scott Bandura has added .300 average along with three home runs, eight RBI and seven runs. Matt Scannell has 10 walks in seven games, which places him fifth in the NCAA in walks per contest (1.43).
Princeton has hit 14 home runs in its seven games, good for 2.0 per contest, tied for 20th in the country. The Tigers are also 60th in slugging percentage at .491.
Jacob Faulkner has posted a 2.53 ERA in 10 2/3 innings of work, collecting a win and a save. Justin Kim, in three appearances, sits with a 2.84 ERA. The Tigers have struck out 50 hitters in 56 innings of work.
Princeton will also take on Richmond, Old Dominion, Cincinnati and USC Upstate next week.
