Misterwives and Jane Leo to perform at Longhorn City Limits on Sept. 17
AUSTIN, TEXAS – On the heels of their United States headlining tour, indie pop rock act Misterwives will headline Longhorn City Limits presented by Still Austin Whiskey prior to the Texas Football vs. UTSA game on September 17. The FREE gameday concert series, located on the LBJ Lawn, will begin at 3 p.m.
With over 1 billion streams worldwide, Misterwives has been wowing audiences with their high-energy performances since 2012. Comprised of Mandy Lee, Etienne Bowler, William Hehir, Marc Campbell, and Mike Murphy, the band hit the mainstream charts with their hit single “Reflections” followed by the release of their debut album Our Own House in 2015. Their latest album SUPERBLOOM sees the band evolving their indie pop sound with a 19-track epic featuring lead singles “Rock Bottom”, “Superbloom”, “Decide to Be Happy”, and “3 Small Words”. 2022 has been a busy year for the band including appearances at BottleRock Napa Valley and Central Park Summerstage in addition to a summer headlining stop at Stubb’s Austin. Misterwives has previously appeared twice at ACL Festival (2015 and 2019).
At 4 p.m., Austin-based artist Jane Leo will kick Longhorn City Limits off. A collaboration between Jane Ellen Bryant and Daniel Leopold, frontman of Leopold and His Fiction, the neon noir duo blends touches of Blondie, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Angel Olsen with an edge of Jeff Buckley, The Kills or St. Vincent. Jane Leo juxtaposes lilting melodies with rock machismo and lush, cinematic Hollywood production alongside modern indie and synthpop sensibilities for a pristine effect. Their singles “Tell Me (I’m On Your Mind)”, “The More You Know”, and “Borderline” precede their forthcoming album.
The fan-favorite Silent Disco returns to Longhorn City Limits following the game. Featuring three live DJs, participating fans receive a pair of wireless headphones and the ability to choose between three different channels.
Fans ages 21 and up can enjoy new signature activations at Longhorn City Limits for the 2022 season. Upon entering the LBJ Lawn, fans are invited to experience the Still Austin Music Lounge serving up a full menu of refreshments including the signature Horns Up Bourbon Lemonade on ice, and to relax in a shaded area while enjoying the show. Fans won’t want to miss surprises and limited edition swag curated by Still Austin Whiskey Co, the homegrown grain-to-glass craft distillery using 100% Texas grains.
Come relax at the Tito’s Tailgate in front of the LBJ Fountain to enjoy refreshing Tito’s cocktails on tap, shaded views of the stage, and college football live streaming to tailgate in real Texas fashion.
Concert goers can also enjoy Stubb’s BBQ and take a photo in front of the LCL guitar monument located on the west curb of the LBJ Lawn closest to Robert Dedman Drive.
