Oregon State University’s American Strings series will host musician Keb’ Mo’ for 2 live events

CORVALLIS, Ore. — Oregon State University’s American Strings series will host rock and blues musician Keb’ Mo’ for a live campus event Oct. 6, and then in Beaverton at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts on Oct. 7.

The American Strings series brings in musicians from a range of genres for an evening of conversation about their music and career along with a brief performance. It is sponsored by OSU’s College of Liberal Arts and hosted by Bob Santelli, OSU director of popular music and performing arts.

Keb’ Mo’ previously joined Santelli for a live webcast event in 2020, but this will be his first time visiting OSU in person. The event will not be livestreamed or recorded for later viewing.

Born Kevin Roosevelt Moore, singer, guitarist and songwriter Keb’ Mo’ has released 14 albums over the course of his career and won five Grammy Awards, including the 2020 prize for Best Americana Album for “Oklahoma.” His appearance in Corvallis comes in the midst of his 2022 European and U.S. tour showcasing his latest album, “It’s Good to Be (Home Again).”

American Strings: An Evening with Keb’ Mo’ will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Construction & Engineering Hall at OSU’s LaSells Stewart Center, 875 SW 26th St. in Corvallis. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and are on sale at oregonstatecla.universitytickets.com. Seating is general admission and limited to 200 people. After his OSU appearance, Keb’ Mo’ will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts. The center is located at 12625 SW Crescent St. in Beaverton. Tickets are $30 for the general public. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit The Reser website.

The Beaverton event is jointly presented by OSU’s College of Liberal Arts, the OSU Arts and Education Complex and The Reser. It is the first of many anticipated collaborations with the Arts and Education Complex, which is scheduled to open on the Corvallis campus in fall 2024.
