Buczek Names 14 to 2023 Recruiting Class

ITHACA, N.Y. — Connor Buczek ’15, The Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Men’s Lacrosse, has announced the addition of 14 student-athletes to the Cornell men’s lacrosse program ahead of the 2023 season. The decorated newcomers have received countless honors, including All-America recognitions, high school state championships, and all-state honors.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome this group to Cornell,” Buczek said. “They are very accomplished high school student-athletes, but more importantly they embody many of the traits that we hold in high esteem within our program. We believe they will help us reach great feats in the coming years.”

Of the 14 new recruits, Cornell adds five at the attack, three midfielders, four defenders, and a goalie. Of the four defenders, two double as long stick midfielders. The class largely hails from New York, but also includes newcomers from Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, and Ontario, Canada.

The Big Red is looking forward to the return of the lacrosse season after coming off a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship game. Cornell boasted a 14-5 record overall in 2022, including three top-five wins and a share of the Ivy League title.
