Devon Hendricks earns Rising Executives Commitment Award

AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas Assistant Athletics Director for Events and Game Operations Devon Hendricks has been named the 2022 Rising Executives Commitment Award winner by the Women Leaders in College Sports, the organization announced Tuesday. Hendricks and the other 2022 award recipients will be recognized at the Women Leaders National Convention in Kansas City from October 9-11.

The Commitment Award recognizes a mid-level athletics administrator who is committed to providing leadership and guidance within intercollegiate athletics, goes beyond the call of duty, and provides outstanding service to one’s department, conference office or organization.

Women Leaders in College Sports is committed to recognizing the achievements and successes of women working in athletics. Celebrating these accomplishments is an integral piece of advancing women in athletics.

Nominated by their peers and selected by the Women Leaders Awards Committee for their service during 2021-22, Hendricks is one of three Rising Executive Award recipients this year. Jenna McKinley (Colorado State Pueblo) earned the Rising Star Award, while Haydyn Gibson (NCAA Coordinator of DII Governance) was selected as the Promising Professional Award.

In addition, the Awards Committee announced four recipients of the Nike Lifetime Achievement Award and eight recipients of the Nike Executive of the Year Award.

Founded in 1979, Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA) is the only nationally-recognized collegiate professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, connect and advance women leaders working in intercollegiate athletics and beyond. More than 4,300 members strong, Women Leaders promotes the growth, leadership and success of women as athletics administrators, conference commissioners, professional staff, coaches and student-athletes.
