During the 2025 season, Harvard baseball showed promising growth and development, used a strong finish to the year to secure a spot in the postseason, and punctuated the season with an impressive showing at the 2025 Ivy League Tournament, demonstrating the program’s hallmark traits of resiliency, character, and grit.
Following a challenging non-conference slate to open the year, the Crimson earned its first win of the season in a back-and-forth, 14-13 battle over Holy Cross behind timely hitting from Liam Wilson, George Cooper, and Jack Rickheim.
Playing at O’Donnell Field for the first time in 2025, the Crimson captured a 6-3 victory over eventual Ivy League regular season champion, Yale, as George Cooper blasted a homer, and Callan Fang threw seven innings in the win.
Competing in the semifinals of The Baseball Beanpot, Harvard secured its spot in the championship game at Fenway Park behind a 13-5 victory over UMass. Gio Colasante tallied four RBIs and a home run to help lead the visitors to the win.
Returning to O’Donnell Field, Truman Pauley delivered a performance for the ages, bringing a no-hitter into the ninth inning in an eventual 3-2 win over Princeton. Pauley registered 12 strikeouts over 8.1 innings in the gem for the Crimson.
In another mid-week victory, Harvard blasted its way to a 19-4 win over Stonehill as George Cooper, Matt Giberti, Jordan Kang, Tyler Shulman, and Liam Wilson all hit home runs for the Crimson.
Turning its sights back to Ivy League play, the Crimson swept a Saturday doubleheader from Cornell in dramatic fashion as first-year Liam Wilson launched a two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth, helping Harvard rally from an 8-5 deficit.
In its final road series of the regular season, Harvard swept a three-game set from Brown to vault itself into position to qualify for the postseason. After the Crimson captured an extra-innings win in game one, Harvard tallied 22 runs across a Sunday doubleheader to complete an undefeated weekend.
Creating memories that will last a lifetime, Harvard squared off with Northeastern in the championship game of The Baseball Beanpot as the event returned to Fenway Park for the first time since 2019. Tyler Shulman posted three RBIs on the night, including a solo home run around the Pesky Pole, before the Crimson dropped a narrow 5-4 decision.
As part of its final full weekend of the regular season against Columbia, the Crimson recognized the Class of 2025 for its hard work and dedication to the program over the last four years.
Closing the regular season with a rescheduled game against Princeton, Harvard claimed a 5-3 victory over the Tigers – a win that allowed the Crimson to earn a spot in the Ivy League Tournament following the close of conference play.
Harvard – the number four seed at the tournament – made its presence known, as it finished as the runner-up for the weekend. The Crimson opened the tournament with an impressive 3-1 win over Yale behind outstanding performances from Callan Fang and Gio Colasante.
Truman Pauley then threw a gem on Saturday with a tournament-record 13 strikeouts over nine innings before Harvard fell in extra innings to Columbia. The Crimson bounced back on Sunday, claiming an 8-6 win over Yale in an elimination game before eventually falling to Columbia in the afternoon’s championship game.
As part of its successful late-season run, the Crimson tallied seven All-Ivy honorees, including unanimous First Team All-Ivy accolades for Gio Colasante. Harvard also totaled three Ivy League All-Tournament Team selections and three Academic All-District picks.
Behind its positive momentum from the close of the year and its valuable postseason experience, Harvard is poised to continue to achieve success on the field and develop young men into leaders as it looks forward to the promise of what lies ahead in the 2026 season.
