PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– The Princeton baseball team faced the Penn Quakers in the final game of the weekend series. After the Quakers even the game up at 6-6 in the bottom of the ninth, Princeton was unable to break the tie as the Tigers fell to Penn 7-6 in 12 innings.
Penn took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, capitalizing on a two-run homer. Princeton responded in the third with a three-run rally to tie the game, thanks to doubles from Jake Koonin and Will Robbins along with a pair of sacrifice flies.
The Quakers tacked on a run in the bottom of the frame to take back the lead, but the Tigers responded as Jordan Kelly scored in both the fifth and the seventh on fielding errors to make it a 6-4 ballgame.
The bottom of the ninth saw Penn plate two runs to knot the game at six apiece before the Quakers took the win in the 12th.
