YAA and STAY Bring Students and Alumni Together Around Leadership
In early October, the Yale Alumni Association (YAA) and Students and Alumni of Yale (STAY) hosted a record 105 Yale students for the 16th Student Leadership Forum. The event brought together students from Yale College and 11 of Yale’s graduate and professional schools to discuss leadership insights from six Yale alums at the Elm City Club in New Haven. These students lead or have led more than 60 student organizations, hail from more than 20 nations, and posed more than 300 leadership challenges.
Over the years, Student Leadership Forums have attracted more than 100 alums to lead discussions attended by more than 1,000 Yale students. Attendees were treated to programming aimed at exploring leadership, exchanging wisdom, discerning leadership styles/strategies, and networking throughout the Yale community.
Many attendees expressed gratitude for the experience, leadership insights, and opportunity to make alumni connections.
Shawn Nordstrom ’28, a first-year student in Saybrook College, found the events particularly inspiring, “The Yale Student Leadership Forum was an extraordinary opportunity to connect with some of Yale’s most inspiring leaders. As a freshman surrounded by upperclassmen, professional, and graduate students, I found the environment enlightening and motivating, leaving me inspired to pursue future goals.”
All students are invited to join Cross Campus and/or STAY, and to look more closely into YAA activities.
