Sailing Finishes Seventh at Women’s Team Racing Nationals
Cambridge, Mass. — Cornell sailing finished its first national event of the spring season in seventh place on Monday afternoon. The Big Red won six of 11 races on the weekend. Yale’s second-place finish at the ICSA Women’s Team Sailing Nationals crowned the Bulldogs the 2024 Ivy League Champions.
Pairs of Winborne Majette and Amelia Neumann, Bridget Green and Sophia Pearce, and Sophia Devling and Sophia Mulvania combined their efforts this weekend to pull off the seventh-place finish. The group defeated Dartmouth, Charleston, Brown, MIT, Tulane, and Wisconsin. Cornell and Penn ended with a tied record of six wins and four losses. The Quakers and the Big Red entered a sail off to decide the final seed for the Top 6 round, and Penn came out on top to solidify its advancement.
The Big Red is back in action for more national races on the horizon, including the ICSA Nationals set for Monday, May 20 through Monday May, 27.
