Ramsey Named to Team USA for 2023-24 National Season
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Head Coach David Passmore of Team USA Field Hockey, has named his 2023-24 U.S. Women’s National Team. Big Red senior, Caroline Ramsey, made the final cut of 34.
“Caroline has established herself as one of the best players in the country,” said Head Coach of Cornell Field Hockey, Andy Smith. “Since getting selected for the U21 World Cup in 2021, she has gone from strength to strength. It’s no surprise to us to see her selected again for the USWNT, because we see the quality every day in practice. We look forward to watching her over the next 12 months as she continues on her journey towards Paris and the 2024 Olympics.”
Ramsey, named third-team All-American by NFHCA, totaled eight goals and two assists for 18 points in 2022. She had a shot on goal percentage of .543, and tallied two game winners. She notched all 10 of Cornell’s defensive saves across the season, ranking fifth nationally as a team, and third nationally as a single player. She recorded an assist in the Big Red’s win over #4 Louisville, the program’s first top-five win.
To date, she has started all but one game of her Cornell career. She has totaled 31 goals and seven assists, for 69 points. Her career goal total ranks sixth in the Cornell record book, while her career point total sits at eighth all-time at Cornell.
