Each year the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati collaborates with local universities to showcase select artworks by graduating MFA candidates in an exhibition. The 2021 exhibition, titled Emerge, was curated by Joe Civitello and features over 75 works by 15 graduating artists, seven from Miami University.

Miami University artists include photographer Hannah Fox, painter Nate Jeffery, fabric artist Erin McGuire, mixed media artist Natalie Miczikus, mixed media artist Maggie Myers, painter and printmaker Karina Serapio-Rendon, and painter Kyla Robinson. “The Contemporary Arts Center is providing our students with an amazing opportunity to showcase the hard work and talent they have put into their artwork while pursuing their MFA,” said Liz Mullenix, Dean of the College of Creative Arts.

Visitors experienced the exhibition in-person February 10-14, 2021, after reserving a ticket on the Contemporary Arts Center’s website. Each of the seven Miami University artists will have an individual exhibition in the Hiestand Galleries at Miami University’s Oxford campus between March 9 and May 5, 2021.

Participating artists in Emerge include MFA candidates from both Miami University and the University of Cincinnati; Andrea Chemero, Nickolas Collins, Hannah Fox, Nathan Jeffrey, Kirsten Ledbetter, Rachel Linnemann, Erin McGuire, Natalie Miczikus, Maggie Myers, Kyla Robinson, Josie Roebuck, Cody Schriever, Karina Serapio, Sara Torgison, and Sheng Yin. Organizing faculty Michael Stillion, Rob Robbins, Mark Harris, and Kate Bonansinga.
