Turner ’15 Wins NLL Title, Teat ’21 Named Rookie of the Year

ITHACA, N.Y. — Erik Turner ’15 won a National Lacrosse League (NLL) title with the Colorado Mammoth and Jeff Teat ’15 earned Rookie of the Year honors after setting conference records for points and assists by a rookie.

Turner played in 17 games for the Mammoth, registering two goals and six assists for eight points. He added 51 ground balls, nine caused turnovers and even faced off 32 times on the season. Colorado topped Buffalo in the finals 2-1, rallying after losing game one and clinching with a 10-8 triumph on June 18. At Cornell, Turner played in 24 career games and posted a pair of assists with five ground balls.

Teat finished fourth in the league in scoring (37-71-108) and third in assists while playing for the New York Riptide. He netted a pair of game-winning goals, caused 11 turnovers and won 111 ground balls in 16 contests. The first overall selection in the 2020 NLL Entry Draft posted three games with 10 or more points with a season high of 12 against the Buffalo Bandits. The three-time USILA All-American at Cornell posted 268 career points in just over three seasons (116-152-268).
