Women’s Basketball 2022 Incoming Freshman Class

Heading into his second season as head coach for the Lady Steers, Coach Jamaal Evans has been busy at work during the offseason and it shows.

Hitting the recruiting trail hard in Texas, Coach Evans has signed six high school senior standouts that will help pave the road to victory for the Women’s Basketball Team in the upcoming 2022-2023 season. Four of the six student-athletes hail from East Texas, and one even in Texas College’s back yard.

“I’m excited about the incoming freshman class,” noted Evans. “These student-athletes are eager and enthusiastic about beginning their new educational and athletic journey here at Texas College, and they should be. We’re equally as excited to have them join the Texas College Family and the Women’s Basketball program.”

The newest additions to the Lady Steers are:

  • Kayla Crabtree – Liberty Eylau High School
  • Ny’Kayla Hooper – Kilgore High School
  • Martiana Jones – Lufkin High School
  • Kaiya Richardson – Franklin High School
  • Aliyah Solis – Lamar Consolidated High School
  • Jaymariea Taylor – Tyler High School
